Webinars are a powerful tool for sharing knowledge remotely. All you need is a laptop (with a webcam and microphone) and a stable internet connection. This makes it easy to host or attend a webinar from home.

But as webinars become increasingly popular, it’s important to consider privacy. What personal data is being processed? And more importantly, how is it handled?

In this blog, we bring privacy back to the forefront and show you how WebinarGeek ensures data protection.

What does the GDPR entail again?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individuals must give explicit consent for the collection of their personal data. Want to learn more? Check out our detailed blog on GDPR.

How does WebinarGeek safeguard privacy?

For participants

When someone registers for a webinar, they must agree to your privacy policy. This document explains how you handle collected data. You can also request explicit consent to, for example, add someone to your mailing list.

For your account

Within your account, you’ll find the ‘Security’ section. Here, you can manage everything related to privacy and security, such as two-step verification for extra protection. You can also search for all stored data of a specific person using their email address. The data processing agreement is also available here.

Data processing agreement

You can download the data processing agreement or view and approve it online in the ‘Security’ section. This agreement clearly outlines all terms for processing personal data.

Privacy is an ongoing process, and we continue to work on keeping your data secure. Want to learn more?
